THE ORIGIN
I came up with the idea for this infographic one day when I began thinking about the common themes of content that appeal to people across a wide range of audiences.
I had the infographic created and wrote it for ContentMarketingInstitute.com.
It originally appeared on their site back on June 5, 2012.
Before their site redesign, the number of times it had been tweeted was over 800 times.
I NEVER EXPECTED IT TO RESONATE WITH SO MANY
Since that day it has been continually shared all over the internet.
Here are just of few of the places:
- It was shared on CopyBlogger.com by Robert Bruce as one of his “7 Content Marketing Links You Shouldn’t Skip”.
- It has been pinned many times on Pinterest.com. See it here.
- When Infinigraph.com shared the infograph they said that it was viewed 675,915 times and shared 520 times.
I never imagined such an positive response from so many people, but I am grateful that so many people have found it helpful.
10 More Types of Content We Crave
In 2016, ContentMarketingInstitute.com asked me if I wanted to do an updated post, since the original one was so popular.
I said yes and I included 10 additional types of content we crave . I also provided them with a new infographic that included the 10 new types of content we crave.
That post was called “31 Types of Content We Crave [Infographic].”
Just 17 days after that updated post went live, this is what happened.:
- It was tweeted 1127 times
- It was shared on Linkedin 711 times
- It was shared on Facebook 343 times
- And it was shared on Google+ 282 times
Why has the infographic appealed to so many people?
I believe it’s because it reminds us of the key types of content that we all crave.
Content, if used correctly, can enable us to create engaging and influentialcontent for our given audience.
